An argument that started in Dewan Rakyat was continued outside the Hall on Tuesday when Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Datuk Seri Azmi Khalid and Lim Kit Siang (DAP – Ipoh Timur) could not see eye to eye over the report on the Eurocopter deal probe.
Both were seen arguing over the submission of the report to Dewan Rakyat inside the House before the sitting adjourned for lunch break.
Lim later spoke to reporters at the lobby, urging Azmi to submit the PAC report on the Eurocopter probe as soon as possible. He added that all PAC members ought to sign the report.
When Lim was making his statement, Azmi walked past and waited for Lim to complete his statement.
Azmi then said the report would be submitted in few days as the report was being typed verbatim.
“I can’t be taking sides , both for the Government and the opposition for the integrity of PAC.
“Please be patient and we can debate the issue once the report is tabled,” Azmi said.
To this, Lim told Azmi: “You should have waited for the report to be ready instead of jumping the gun and announcing to the press.”
In return, Azmi said the full report was still being typed and the announcement he made to reporters was not in detail as compared to the report.
